Job Description

The 3D Printing Engineer will lead efforts for designing and manufacturing a process to 3D print electrodialysis stacks used in the LiTAS™ technology system. They will also provide technical expertise, direction, and support to cross-functional teams working on lithium separation technologies and next-generation battery technology that may be able to incorporate aspects of 3D printing. This individual will be responsible for planning and executing projects that focus on new product development, and the existing technology improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Work cross-functionally with material scientists to design and implement novel 3D printing methods for lithium separation membrane stacks.
Create and optimize the end-to-end additive manufacturing process.
Manage 3D printing equipment, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Assist with the prototype design concepts, manufacturing implementation, and validation.
Develop and complete understanding of needs and operations and provide technical insight.
Provide technical direction and support to internal and external R&D and manufacturing teams regarding the design control process.
Assist in setting up new manufacturing facilities with technology and design transfer, create part specifications, supplier qualifications, process validations etc.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, or Materials Science Engineering).
3 – 5 year of experience in the 3D Printing Process life cycle.
Deep understanding of 3D Printing equipment, capabilities, and material inputs including metal, plastics, and others.
Hands-on technical manufacturing experience (CNC, Heat Treat, Assembly, Surface Treatment, NDT, and similar).
Proficient in development and evaluation of device designs using CAD, FEA, ANSYS or similar.

Additional Requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Understanding of techniques applicable for lithium extraction, separation, recovery, and refining.
Effective communication skills as related to the board, partners, and investors including presentation skills at meetings and conferences.
