Job Description
The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist will play an instrumental part in translating EnergyX’s lithium separation technologies into demonstration-scale leading to commercialization. The role will be part of the process engineering team and report to the Director of Process Engineering & Projects. The position will be responsible for designing, building, and operating pilot’s electrical, sensors, controls, HMI, and related systems. The position is based in Austin, TX, and some international traveling might be required.
Responsibilities
Work on a team of experienced EnergyX scientists in research and development focused on disruptive materials and engineering systems to fundamentally transform scientific aspects of the energy industry including:
Design, build and operate electrical systems for pilot plants.
Measure, fabricate and install conduit, piping, and tubing, and perform basic electrical wiring, including protection devices and grounding circuits.
Support troubleshooting and resolving of critical issues.
Interface with equipment vendors to procure equipment to specifications.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience.
Experience with flow, pressure, temperature, level, conductivity, pH, etc. sensors.
Electrician license.
Ability to work on low voltage systems.
Ability to deliver and interpret design drawings and blueprints.
Experience with installing and programming PLCs. Remote I/O and develop HM
Deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Experienced with project development, management, and delivery.
