Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will play an instrumental part in translating EnergyX’s lithium separation technologies into demonstration-scale leading to commercialization. The role will be part of the process engineering team and report to the Director of Process Engineering & Projects. The position will be responsible for designing, building, and operating pilot’s electrical sensors, controls, HMI, and related systems. The position is based in Austin, TX, some international traveling might be required.

Responsibilities

Work on a team of experienced EnergyX scientists in research and development focused on disruptive materials and engineering systems to fundamentally transform scientific aspects of the energy industry including:

Design, build and operate electrical systems for pilot plants.
Perform basic electrical wiring, including protection devices and grounding circuits.
Measure, fabricate and install piping and tubing.
Support troubleshooting and resolving of critical issues.
Oversee development and implementation process plants at all scales.
Evaluate the state of the industry techniques and equipment for future lab and pilot testing capabilities.
Interface with equipment vendors to procure equipment to specifications.
Engage with EPC contractors to deliver demonstration and commercial plants.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on field/design experience.
Experience with flow, pressure, temperature, level, conductivity, pH, etc. sensors.
Electrician license desirable.
Ability to work on low voltage systems.
Ability to deliver and interpret design drawings and blueprints.
Experience with installing and programming PLCs. Remote I/O and develop HMIs.
Deep knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Experienced with project development, management, and delivery.
